David Gold on Talksport
Live interview just now.

- "We will spend more this transfer window than ever before"
- "We have never taken from the club, we have only put money in. All we have taken is some interest from loans."
- "West Ham Football Club would be in a far worse position had myself and David Sullivan had not loaned them money"
- "Stadium is not perfect, but is still fantastic and is our future"

Blah blah blah. Let's hold him to the first one.

The problem is that when someone tells you huge lies time after time it becomes extremely difficult to believe anything that person says.

Also, if I had a tonne of money to spend I would not tell the people I was intending to buy from before agreeing a price for they may be inclined to artificially inflate the price.

Precisely. Making the same mistakes they have made before. It's an open invitation to other clubs to up their prices. We will then say we tried.

So when he said just over a week ago that he very much hoped Moyes would be the new manager, was he talking shit or lying again?

Re: David Gold on Talksport
At least he didn't mention a specific number. Like oh we have £70m or whatever. He also seemed to be concentrating on not putting his foot in it. Maybe someone's told him not to say anything stupid. He also lied about Pellegrini not seeing the stadium. He has. He was there last night.

Jim White makes me angry.

I dislike him.

Re: David Gold on Talksport
Just been watching the Tifo Football video on EPL club worth.

They have West Ham as being worth £368 Million (up from £148 mill in 2016).

This is based on;

- Income rising faster than wages

- Substantial gains from player sales

- Debts paid off after sale of Boleyn Ground

They had better be reaching deep into those pockets. This season really feels like the last chance for sizeable investment to push into regular top half finishes.

If it doesn't happen we'll be relegated within the next two seasons and I could see us never returning. The chasm between Super rich and the rest will be beyond us.

Here is just a suggestion?

Why not leave the poor old cunt alone for a while? He has admitted mistakes have been made and is trying his best to rectify the whole situation now.

Getting Pellegrini in and financially backing him is huge in my opinion.

Re: David Gold on Talksport
I don't think it matters, every club inflates the price of a player they want to keep. Pretty much every Premier League club now has so much money that selling clubs will always hold out for bigger deals.

I think they will spend more than ever before but I hope its players Pellegrini wants and needs and not the Sullivan picks. Sullivan has to realise that as much as it's his money, progress can't be made by just signing speculative loans, punts on free signings and players where you can drive a bargain and feel smug.

Sometimes you have to pay over the odds and hope they turn out a special player. Look at De Bruyne and Salah. Both known talents. Expensive buys at the time but now influential superstars.

Massive loans to fund biggest ever transfer spend, more interest for the Daves.

Of course they let the world know and will pay £15M for another Hugill

Better buy four decent players for priority positions, than ten bargains without worrying about their positions or how they're going to play together until they arrive.

I guess the best way to decide who is selecting the purchases is to wait and see if there is a discernable plan (Pellegrini) or not (Sullivan).

Justin, I am all for giving the bloke a chance, but as someone else said on this thread, when you've been lied to time & time again what is to stop you from thinking we are being spun yet more untruths?

Gold is certainly the more likable out of the two but it's yet more attention-seeking from part of a double act who just cannot seem to keep a low profile. Just keep quiet and get on with rectifying mistakes rather than waxing lyrical about how you've changed, which will serve only to fuel more fan anger if he fails to back it up.

Said they would spend a lot more than usual this summer a few weeks back.

It is all reactive though, no fucking plan at all long term, just a reaction to the shit they have got in the media, because their egos are so fucking fragile.

If the grief had come solely from the fans, they would probably have gone on with business as usual. The continuation of ruining rather than running a football club.

Pellegrini offers a hope that on the field at least there can be confidence in results improving, and the club's fortunes looking better, only on the proviso that the 3 fuckwits learn from 25 years of 'experience' and stop their interfering.

He will not be carrying forward their plans and ambitions though, in the main to begin with, he will be putting right years of their fucking ineptitude

West Ham United have never been in a worse position than when these spivs and liars took over the club.
